Summary:
We needed to update the computers, and these brand new ones include large 19 inch monitors. We purchased five for the classroom so that there would be enough for numerous students to be on at the same time.
An overhead projector can be beneficial to display power points, videos, and other applications to the entire class. Incorporating the visual technology into the lesson plan provides a change from traditional teaching styles and captures student's interest.
We chose to give each student a 4 GB flash drive so that the students could save their work on the flash drives and bring it home with them to work on if they would like.
The printers include printing, faxing, and scanning features to cover all the needs of the students.
Five video cameras for the classroom were purchased so that students can document projects they work on and learn technology skills. They can document various events and five cameras would give each group of five students their personal one.
We purchased computers so we obviously need to include headphones with that. Students will be taking reading quizzes, solving FCAT related questions, and much more that involves noise. In order to not distract other classmates they will need headphones.
We purchased an MP3 player for the class so that students can all listen to learning CD's in class. There will be a designated area for students to do this activity. Also if we have CD's to play during class we will use this.
With the laser printer we will only be printing out documents using black ink. Kids will go crazy with color and use too much so we decided to just use black ink and we purchased two sets for our specific printer.
Microsoft office provides access to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Publisher.
The Kidsworks Deluxe program would be useful in our classroom because it combines a word processer with a paint program and builds students language and creativity skills.
We chose to purchase the Vocabulary Worksheet Factory software for the teacher to use to make creative worksheets such as crosswords, spelling hunts, and other activities that teach the students new vocabulary easily.
Kidspiration 3 uses creative visual learning to strengthen student's understanding of reading, writing, mathematics and science. Kidspiration makes learning fun for students.
